Ansaldo Energia is Italy's largest supplier, installer and service provider for power generation plants and components. The company designs and manufactures several power plant types: thermal, geothermal, combined cycle, cogeneration and conducts many activities for nuclear power plants (through subsidiary company Ansaldo Nucleare).
A full-cycle, integrated operator, Ansaldo Energia has the capabilities to build turnkey power plants using its own technology and its own independent design, production, construction, commissioning and service resources.
According to the market demand, Ansaldo Energia's core business focuses on combined cycle power plants from 100 to 1600 MW.
We have in-house manufacturing capability for all major plant components, such as gas and steam turbines and generators, while the other plant components, such as HRSGs, condensers and plant auxiliaries are purchased from selected suppliers.
Our turboset packages can be supplied as a standalone system together with the electrical generator, the turboset auxiliaries and the control system, or integrated with thermal cycle equipment to provide a complete power island. Ansaldo Energia also supplies complete turnkey power plant both in combined cycle or open cycle.
Ansaldo Energia has a comprehensive portfolio of 50 Hz and 60 Hz non-reheat and reheat steam turbines ranging from 40 MW to 1000 MW for conventional steam cycles, combined cycles and cogeneration applications. In addition, the company offers a complete line of geothermal steam turbines from 20 MW to 150 MW for 50 and 60 Hz markets.
Ansaldo Energia steam turbines are based on a modular concept to reduce technical risk and manufacturing time and ensure high reliability. Several different material options are available to meet different steam conditions up to the most advanced ultra supercritical parameters (600°C/620°C).
Today, our steam turbines are based on reaction technology, while the impulse design is maintained in geothermal and small-size steam turbines
As well as steam turbines, Ansaldo Energia manufactures a complete range of heavy duty gas turbines for power generation applications, including both E-Class and F-Class gas turbines.
Our E-Class and F-Class gas turbines feature compressor cold-end drive disk-type rotor with two bearings, axial exhaust and compressor with variable inlet guide vanes. They are designed for easy maintenance - all blades and vanes are replaceable with rotor in place and the hot-gas path can be inspected with no need to open the turbine.
E-Class and F-Class gas turbines can be supplied as stand-alone units, integrated with thermal cycle packages for power islands or as part of turnkey open and combined cycle power plants.
Ansaldo Energia has extensive experience in the design and construction of air-cooled, hydrogen-cooled and hydrogen-water cooled turbogenerators.
Air-cooled turbogenerators provide a modern, highly compact solution for: base and peak load operation; daily startup and shutdown and easy low cost maintenance.
Our hydrogen cooled turbogenerators, with or without direct cooling of the stator winding, comply with PED and ATEX regulations to ensure safer operation in the presence of H2 gas, in addition to the other generally applicable regulations.
With its long-standing experience in the power sector, Ansaldo Energia can provide a wide range of services for both OEM and non-OEM power plants.
We offer a range of services for gas turbines, steam turbines and generators including: field services (onsite inspections, engineering consultancy); repairs life-time assessment, refurbishment and re-manufacturing; spare parts; service agreements and training.
Our Ansaldo ThomassenGulf workshop in Abu Dhabi offers in-house refurbishment of GE gas turbine buckets, hot gas path components and Ansaldo Energia/Siemens gas turbine rotating and stationary blades.
The power sector has played a key role for Ansaldo, which over the years has moved from steam-based power generation plants (from 1912) to gas turbines (from 1992) and full technological independence since 2005. Today, the company employs about 3,300 people and has an installed capacity of 184,000 MW in 90 countries.
The quality, flexibility and efficiency of our products and, most importantly, the commitment, experience and professionalism of our people have made Ansaldo Energia a world-leading company with an enviable international reputation.
