Power plant control and simulator provider CAE has won contracts to supply three power companies. Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd (AECL) has purchased a power plant control system to be installed at Romania's second Candu reactor at Cernavoda. The Digital Control Computer (DCC) will be delivered at the beginning of 2004. CAE supplied a DCC for the first Cernavoda unit in 1984. The Third Qinshan Nuclear Power Co has purchased spare parts for the DCC at its Qinshan Phase III nuclear plants, which were supplied through AECL in 1998, and CAE has also been awarded a contact to update the Clinton Power Plant simulator owned by AmerGen Energy Co. The boiling water reactor at the US plant is to be uprated over the next few years.
