KFx Inc and Alstom Power China have been awarded their first neural network combustion optimisation project, at the Yangliuqing Power Plant in China. The system is designed to optimise the efficiency of a 300 MW power generation unit, reduce emissions and increase plant life by reducing metallurgical stresses. The order, for a Pegasus Power Perfecter software installation, will be supplied by KFx subsidiary Pegasus Technologies and Huaneng Automation Engineering Co. The latter is a subsidiary of the China Huaneng Group.
