Green hydrogen in Serbia

4 July 2023

PAN-LEDI has selected a Jenbacher J420 engine for a containerised hydrogen-fuelled 1 MWe combined heat and power plant to be located in Nova Pazova, Serbia.

The electricity will be used by PAN-LEDI for an electric vehicle charging station at the location, with excess power injected into the grid and the engine waste heat sold to a nearby commercial customer. The CHP plant is expected to be delivered and commissioned in Q4 2023.

The hydrogen fuel will be provided by a PV powered electrolyser, with the hydrogen pumped into an interim store before transport to the Nova Pazove site.

Most of the hydrogen will be produced during the summer and during times of low hydrogen supply the CHP plant will run on natural gas.
