Managing engines

20 October 1999

Regulateurs Europa have announced the introduction of a new Viking digital electronic management system – the Viking 25 – and a digital electronic engine governor – the Viking 24.

The Viking 25 has been designed to provide cost effective control of diesel, dual-fuel, and spark ignition gas engines. Customer parameters are easily accessible for editing by a hand-held interface or by PC.

The hand-held operator interface provides an economical route to system setup and commissioning both for service engineers and customers.

The unit interfaces with a family of actuators to meet the requirements of a wide range of prime mover applications, in particular power generation. Complementary modules are available to facilitate auxiliary functions including synchronising and multiple load sharing.
