NAC International to provide 48 Universal Multipurpose Canister Systems

NAC International has signed an agreement to provide 48 Universal Multipurpose Canister Systems to Duke Power for use at its McGuire nuclear power station. Initial delivery is expected to begin in the autumn of 2003 and loading operations will follow soon after. The McGuire station is a two unit 2200 MW plant located at Lake Norman in Huntersville, North Carolina. It is one of three nuclear plants operated by Duke Power. NAC, which specialises in nuclear fuel transport and spent fuel management technology has successfully contracted to deliver 100 systems to other nuclear utilities, a Duke spokesman said.
