Recent power plant contract awards

  • Babcock & Wilcox won a $95 million contract from Bechtel to supply two pulverized-coal-fired 420 MW supercritical boilers to the Millmerran Power Project in Queensland. Millmerran is owned by InterGen, a joint venture between Bechtel and Shell Generating. The project's total value is $920 million, including the 840 MWe power plant and 3.6 million ton per year coal mine. Startup is due in 2002.

  • Peter Brotherhood has won a £2 million contract to supply a 7 MWe turbine alternator to the Bulwer Island Energy Partnership for a cogeneration plant at BP's oil refinery in Brisbane.
