The world’s largest floating power plant

20 February 2016

Karadeniz power ship Osman Khan, presently being fitted out in Turkey, will be, at 486 MW, the world’s largest floating power plant when delivered in 2016. Power units are being supplied by MAN Diesel & Turbo, while Alstom has signed a contract to supply power transformers.

The Karadeniz group continues to expand its fleet of power ships, and aims to increase the total installed power from the present 1500 MW from its nine power ships and barges to over 5000 MW by the end of 2017.
