KEMA Transmission & Distribution Testing Services
Kema Transmission & Distribution Testing Services is specialized in the testing and certification of medium and high voltage components which are applied in the transmission and distribution environment of transmission and distribution networks and industries. The services of KEMA TDT ensure the quality of T&D components.
The High Voltage Laboratory of KEMA is recognized worldwide as an honourable, impartial and leading technical partner. With our advanced testing facilities the laboratory performs tests on electricity transmission and distribution equipment. Manufacturers and power companies from every region of the globe send products to the laboratory for development, acceptance and certification tests. In the beginning of 2009 KEMA will open a new state of the art High Voltage Laboratory. This will result in a significant expansion of our capacity.
KEMA's High Power Laboratory is the world's largest independent laboratory for the short-circuit testing of electricity transmission and distribution equipment, with clients all over the world. The laboratory staff maintains close contacts with clients and work in a team context.
Further to this, KEMA TDT also carries out inspections in a non-KEMA laboratory on a component strictly in accordance with an (inter)national standard. The main requirement is that the test facilities meet the standard of a qualified laboratory (ISO-9000 or equivalent) and that all calibration reports of the test facilities are available. The laboratory should also be adequately equipped to perform the tests according to the applicable standards, e.g. ASTM, IEC or BS).
KEMA Quality
KEMA has more than 75 years of experience in inspections, testing and certification throughout the world. Performance improvement, risk management and quality control are central to the way we resolve dilemmas related to availability, sustainability and profitability on behalf of our customers. We focus on the transfer moments within the value chain. Together with our customers we are able to identify, analyze and manage the main risks that occur. We have translated the need to control these risks into specific services. We are active in several technical committees and provide state-of-the-art info on standard developments. KEMA Quality has offices and strategic partners in Europe, Asia and the United States.
KEMA Academy
The current liberalization and internationalization trends have made efficiency improvement, risk management and operating process optimization more important than ever. KEMA not only assists companies with its wide range of inspection, testing, certification and consultancy services, but also with training, courses and workshops. You want to have adequate in-house knowledge to make your operating processes run optimally. But keeping abreast of all the latest developments is not easy. In many cases, these developments hold the key to increased efficiency and enhanced reliability. This is why knowledge management is universally recognized as absolutely essential. However, 'learning as you go' is increasingly perceived as inefficient and undesirable. To address all these needs and concerns, KEMA has established the KEMA Academy. The KEMA Academy organizes training courses regarding international quality standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, etc.) and all kinds of energy-related topics (power cables, gas turbines, wind power, switchgear, communication protocols, etc.) A lot of these courses are offered on the basis of open enrollment, but it is also possible to develop custom-made training courses in-company. The course contents will then be geared to your specific situation and training needs and may include current cases from your operation.
