Abengoa places Carty power plant order

7 June 2013

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) is to supply the gas turbine combined cycle power generating system for a new power plant being built in Portland, Oregon, USA.

The 440 MW Carty power plant is being built by Abengoa for the Portland General Electric Company (PGE) to help meet growing energy needs in PGE's service area.

MHI has also signed a separate long term service agreement (LTSA) for the new plant.

The GTCC power generation system on order consists of an M501GAC gas turbine, a steam turbine, a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) and a generator. After the plant begins operating Mitsubishi Power Systems America (MPSA) will provide comprehensive turbine maintenance, repair and outage services, replacement parts, and dedicated gas turbine remote monitoring under the LTSA.

The plant will start operating in 2016, says MHI.
