The Monte Alto plant at Milagro in Navarre has a capacity of 9.55 MW and will generate 14 GWh a year, Acciona says.
Covering 51 ha of agricultural land, of the 889 solar structures, 864 are equipped with Buskil automated solar tracking. More than 300 are the 11 kW K-12 model with a total surface area of 100 m2. The remaining 556 are the 5 kW K-6 model and cover 50 m2.
The rest are fixed structures adapted to the relief of the terrain. The plant belongs to 753 private owners who have invested € 65m overall
The Monte Alto solar garden at Milagro is the seventh developed by Acciona Solar en Navarre and the ninth in Spain with a total capacity of 23 MW.
The development comes as a new study projects a tripling of solar PV demand by 2010. With a market estimated to hit $1.3 billion annually by then, the study by the Freedonia Group explains that the move reflects falling costs and rising tax breaks.
