Alstom boiler for the J. K. Spruce 2 plant in Texas

A contract for the design, manufacture and supply of a new 750 MW pulverised coal-fired supercritical boiler has been awarded to Alstom.

The project, situated in San Antonio, Texas, was awarded by Calaveras Power Partners for the J. K. Spruce 2 power plant.

Scheduled to begin commercial operation in 2010, the new unit is designed to burn Powder River Basin coal.
