Patrick Kron, chairman & CEO of Alstom, has decided to reorganise the company by merging into a single entity all the activities related to power generation, currently managed by two sectors, Power Systems (plants, equipments and retrofit) and Power Service (after-sales, from service to renovation and spare parts).
Philippe Joubert, until now president of Power Systems, is to be president of the new Alstom Power Sector.
The organisation in two divisions of Alstom’s power generation activities corresponded to the period of recovery of the group, completed in 2006, and to the engagement of the company in a strategy concentrating largely on growth. The set-up of a single Power division is expected to improve the commercial performance of the group and optimise its engineering and production capabilities.
