Alstom wins Algerian contract

2 July 2007

The open cycle gas-fired plant will be built in Relizane in western Algeria and Alstom will initially supply two GT13E2 gas turbines, as well as two air cooled turbo-generators. Alstom is also in the final stage of negotiating the supply of a third GT13E2 gas turbine along with a third air cooled turbo-generator.

This new fast-track contract is part of Algeria’s emergency programme which aims to rapidly increase generating capacity in the face of power demand increasing at a rate of approximately 5% each year.
