Alstom wins Chinese orders

Two contracts worth more than euro 56 million for two hydro power projects in China have been won by Alsthom. Hunan Zhongfang Tongwan Hydro Co is to receive four 45 MW bulb turbine generator units for the Tongwan hydro station, located on the Yuan river in China's southern Hunan province. The first unit is expected to begin commercial operation in late 2007.

In a separate deal, Alstom will supply six 780MVA generators to the the Yunnan Huaneng Lancangjiang Hydropower Development Co for the Xiaowan hydro power station, located on the Lancang River in China’s southwestern Yunan Province. The first unit is scheduled to come on line in early 2009.

Alsthom has also been awarded a contract for a Sea Water Flue Gas Desulfurization system for the Qingdao Power Plant, located in Shandong Province in eastern China, worth around euro 4 million.
