Amec Foster Wheeler wins Bruce Power contract

Amec Foster Wheeler is to expand its relationship with Bruce Power with a supplier master services agreement with the Canadian nuclear energy firm.

Under the six-year deal, Amec Foster Wheeler will provide Bruce Power with an extensive range of engineering and project management services including an asset management campaign.

"Ontario's Long-Term Energy Plan is counting on Bruce Power's eight units to help power the province for decades to come, and this means clean, affordable and reliable electricity for families and businesses along with ongoing positive economic impacts," said Duncan Hawthorne, President and CEO, Bruce Power. "Both Bruce Power and Amec Foster Wheeler look forward to continuing to forge a strong relationship while delivering safe, reliable nuclear power to Ontario."

Bruce Power is Canada's first private nuclear generator, operating eight nuclear units that provide 30 per cent of Ontario's power. Amec Foster Wheeler has been a primary supplier to Bruce Power for 13 years, providing key support in engineering and operational analysis including support for the Bruce Units 1 & 2 Refurbishment project.
