10 March 2005

Apex-BP Solar has been awarded a contract by The Zambia Social Investment Fund (ZAMSIF) to install solar panels with a maximum capacity of 250 kW to 121 community-based organisations and nine rural schools.

Apex-BP Solar, a subsidiary of BP France since 1999, will supply the solar panels while Electrical Maintenance Lusaka Ltd (EML) will deliver and install them.

ZAMSIF, a unit of the Ministry of Finance and National Planning, is funding the development through a credit agreement signed with the International Development Association.
