Argentina to develop new T & D links

New transmission links planned in Argentina will see a total of 3 620 km of extensions added in 2005. Among a number of such extensions, in September a new 880 km line connecting the Yacreta hydroelectric dam to Buenos Aires will be developed. Meanwhile, the southern province of Santa Cruz is to develop an interconnection system with the neighbouring Chubut province. The so-called LEAT interconnection system will be 540 km long and is expected to be completed in 24 months.
