Babcock & Wilcox signs scrubber deal

Babcock Borsig Service (BBS) has signed a decade-long Wet Flue Gas Desulphurisation (WFGD or scrubber) license agreement with Babcock & Wilcox.

The deal will allow BBS to sublicense Babcock & Wilcox WFGD technology to its wholly owned German subsidiary, Babcock Noell Nuclear, and to supply and service the technology for power plants in the European Union, Russia and Turkey.

There is no corporate or ownership relationship between Babcock & Wilcox, a subsidiary of McDermott International, and BBS which is a unit of Bilfinger Berger.
