India's Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has brought the output of the Chhabra thermal power plant in Rajasthan to 1000 MW with the commissioning of a fourth 250 MW unit.
The company was contracted by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) to establish two 250 MW coal-fired units at Chhabra. BHEL has already constructed the first stage of the Chhabra plant, comprising two 250 MW coal-fired units.
BHEL's scope of work included design, engineering, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of the plant's boilers, steam turbines, auxiliaries and control system.
