Biomass for Briviesca

12 April 2007

The €40 million plant will generate 120 GWh per year when it enters commercial service in the second half of 2009. Construction is due to begin this year.

Acciona will have a majority holding in the plant, the first biomass facility in the region of Castilla y León. Most of the raw material will come from Burgos and Palencia provinces

In another Spanish renewable project from the company, Acciona is to develop the 318 MW Guadalaviar wind farm in the region of Valencia.

The regional government of Valencia has approved the transfer of the rights of the Guadalaviar consortium to the companies that constitute it including Alabe, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Acciona, and Enerfin.

The projects to be carried out between 2007 and 2010 through the Acciona subsidiary Eólica del Levante.
