Brush with a world record

6 September 2016

Brush Group has reached a major milestone in its power generation history – the delivery of its 400th generator for large mobile power plants. The milestone was reached 16 years after the first trailer mounted DAX 62-170 generator entered service in 2000. These 400 generators have accumulated six million fleet operational running hours – a world record.
Brush, a market leader for the supply of mobile generators rated above 25 MVA, introduced its design to provide a solution tailored to the rental market sector, its intention being to meet the demand for emergency power generation. Working with the major gas turbine manufacturers and packagers, Brush has provided modular solutions for their package designs, taking into consideration the weight, size and operational requirements to fit within standard transport systems for road, rail and air.
The DAX 62-170 type generator has now been installed in over 20 countries worldwide, being compliant with all the major international specifications including ANSI, IEC and IEEE, and being able to operate at a variety of voltages at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz to meet varying countries’ requirements.
Martyn Vaughan, CEO of Brush, said: “In addition to the rental power sector, we are seeing a new market demand in mainstream industrial power supply, where power generation asset managers are seeking to provide additional power capacity for on and off grid operations at a substantially reduced capital outlay.”
