CEZ buys emission permits

The Czech utility company CEZ has purchased emissions permits for 38.8 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year out of a total of 104.55 million tonnes issued by the Ministry for the Environment. The CEZ deal represents more than 37%. The second largest electricity generator, Sokolovska uhelna, has bought permits for 4.36 million tonnes and is followed by Dalkia with 3.87 million tonnes, Elektrarny Opatovice with 2.84 million tonnes, Energotrans with 2.47 million tonnes, United Energy with 2.16 million tonnes and ECK Generating Kladno with 2.06 million tonnes.
