Chinese generation capacity set to exceed 600 GW

According to state media, Wang Yonggan, secretary-general of the CEC, estimates that some 80 GW of additional capacity will begin operation this year with more than 60 GW already begining operation in the first three quarters. Of this some 6.9 GW is hydropower and 52.8 GW coal-fired.

China produced 2,011 TWh in the first three quarters, up 12.9% from the same period last year.
