18 August 2011

Chromalloy, the repairs and service specialist for industrial and aeroerivative gas turbines, has established a new subsidiary, Chromalloy Korea, Ltd in Seoul, South Korea.

The addition of this new enterprise, which will serve as a sales, marketing and customer support office, follows a two-year growth pattern in the company's Asia operations. In 2010 the company opened a new office in Beijing, China, and also doubled capacity at its turbine engine repair and manufacturing operation in Bangkok, Thailand. Chromalloy says that the local availability of engine parts and advanced repairs for turbine components will allow customers to take advantage of significant savings.

The company has announced other growth in its worldwide manufacturing, service and sales network, namely a $30 million investment in a casting foundry in Tampa, Florida., which has come progressively on line during last year and this, and the imminent addition of a new $5 million ceramic core production facility nearby.
