UK-based Hadstone Energy has received consent for a proposed 309 MWp solar farm in Queensland, Australia.
Hadstone said in a statement that it was “delighted” with the development approval, awarded by the Central Highlands Regional Council in mid-November.
It added that the solar farm would help to solve Queensland’s summer generation shortfall, producing 675 GWh of electricity in an average year.
Hadstone is planning to complete the solar farm by the end of November 2018 under a “challenging” timetable. “Powerlink are due to issue Comet’s Offer to Connect next week, so now we can turn our attention to getting the solar farm built,” said Mark Love, Managing Director of Hadstone Energy Pty Ltd.
The solar farm will comprise 909 000 solar modules mounted on a single-axis tracking system.
