Connect and control

Engenius WSM is described by its maker Waukesha as a total engine management system, capable of monitoring and optimising engine operation and performance for its operators, wherever they may be. The manager is directed by the engine control unit continuously to optimise engine performance by monitoring speed, pressure, temperature and other engine conditions; controlling ignition timing, speed governing and stop/start functions; and in addition providing diagnostics and fault logging when requested.

It can be packaged to communicate to an internet server, computer, 'phone or pager, via satellite, mobile (cellular) phone connection, rf device or land line.

Featuring 'plug and play' capability, the ESM achieves access and control via the MODBUS communication protocol, managing the engine via commands from a local control panel. The unit can keep an engine running even if sensors fail, at the same time optimising spark timing for every speed/load condition with integrated detonation protection.Features include self-calibration and self-diagnosis and built in permanent fault logging of alarms and shutdowns. Engine information can easily be downloaded to a laptop computer.
