Contracts and tenders: Siemens to modernize Bulgarian substation

Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution is to modernize and expand the 400 kV switchyard at the Plovdiv transformer substation, one of the country’s largest. The turnkey contract is worth about euro 9 million. The Bulgarian National Electric Company (NEK) has contracted Siemens for the project in Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second-largest city after Sofia, which is scheduled for commissioning in August 2006.

The number of power line bays will be increased from two to four and the scope of the order covers engineering, delivery, installation and commissioning.
