Czechs approve industry CO2 allowances

The Czech government has finalised its proposed allocations of carbon dioxide emissions rights for its 350 individual industrial sites.

Of three scenarios examined, the government has apparently opted a middle road approach that will favour the chemicals and refinery industries.

However, the energy sector also benefits such that electricity utility CEZ will receive some 36.9 million allowances or about a third of the country's total allowances.
