Doosan deal for Ultra Mega project

One of the so-caled Ultra-Mega Thermal Power Plant projects, the plant will be developed in Mundra and will comprise five 800 MW supercritical units.

Doosan plans to contruct the five boilers over the next five years up to 2012 under EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) terms, including design and manufacture of the equipment, installation and testing. It is the largest single project Doosan has ever won overseas.

The Indian government plans to build nine coal-fired ultra-mega thermal power plants by 2016, a market estimated at $30 billion.
