DTEK commissions Ukraine's first wind farm

Ukrainian energy company DTEK has commissioned the first stage of the Botievo wind power plant.

The facility consists of 19 Vestas wind turbines and will be expanded with a further 11 wind turbines by the end of 2012 to bring its output to 90 MW. It is part of a 550 MW wind park that DTEK is currently developing in Ukraine.

The Botievo wind farm is located in Zaporizhzhya province, Ukraine. The second phase of the project will bring the output of the plant to 200 MW.

The cost of the entire project is estimated to be €350 million.
