EDF gets its own EPR

Following the newly announced formal government approval for the EPR design, Electricité de France has revealed the site for its own first EPR – Flamanville in northern France. This will be the second sale for this 3rd generation reactor after the TVO plant currently under construction in Finland.

Areva will supply EDF with the nuclear steam supply system, The EPR was developed by Framatome ANP, a company owned by Areva and Siemens that has already built 96 nuclear reactors around the world.
