Egat's accelerated status change

Energy Minister Prommin Lertsuridej has reportedly approved a restructuring plan that will see the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand become a public company on 1st April. The programme has been accelerated from earlier plans that called for the state enterprise to be corporatised in July.

Egat plans to raise bht 30-40 billion (€588 - €784 million) from its initial public offering to support power development plans for 2004 - 2015.
