Dongfang Electric Corp, the project’s EPC contractor, selected Emerson to automate the two 300 MW coal-fired units, which comprise the first phase of the Haiphong project.
The plant, owned by Hai Phong Thermal Power Joint Stock Co, is located in the Thuy Nguyen District, Haiphong Province. Unit 1 is slated begin commercial operation June 2008, Unit 2 is expected to go into service six months later.
When all four units are operational, the plant will be the largest coal-fired power generation facility in Vietnam.
