Enbridge joins Rampion project

10 November 2015

E.ON has announced that Canadian Energy company Enbridge has joined the Rampion offshore wind energy project by becoming a major shareholder in Rampion Offshore Wind Limited (ROWL). Enbridge has bought a 24.9% stake in ROWL, joining E.ON and its other major partner, the UK Green Investment Bank (GIB).

The investment is Enbridge's first in offshore wind. E.On started construction of the 400 MW project in September 2015, four months after making a final investment decision. The project is located 13 km off the Sussex coast and will become the first offshore wind farm in those waters. E.ON holds a 50.1% stake in Rampion and GIB the remaining 25%. The wind farm is expected to become fully operational in 2018.
