Endesa reduces plant emissions

18 October 2005

The project will require an investment of some €8.2 million and come on-stream in 2007 using the semi-wet type of scrubber.

The installation of the new desulphurisation system in the two oldest Units, which came on stream in 1981 and 1982 respectively, will see a reduction in emissions of SOx of nearly 75% and an 80% reduction of particles. The station also has two other units rated at 130 MW each which already have this system installed.

German company Fisia Babcock Environment will supply the equipment under a turn-key contract.
