ENEL and ENAP set up geothermal plant

Italian power giant ENEL has forged an alliance with Chilean state-owned oil company Empresa Nacional del Petroleo de Chile (ENAP) that will develop geothermal capacity in Chile. Majority held by ENEL, some $60 million is expected to be invested by the joint ventre in the development of three power plants in northern and central Chile. Production is scheduled to start in 2010.
