Enel plans to build two power plants in Spain

Italian state-owned energy giant Enel plans to build two new 800 MW generators in Spain through its Viesgo subsidiary.

One of the plants will be located in the province of Cadiz, while the other will be in the province of Zaragoza and some 44% of the project’s will reportedly be financed by the European Investment Bank.

The facilities are due to begin commercial operation in mid-2007 and November 2007, each at a cost of around €350 million each.
