Gas Natural SDG SA has selected Mott MacDonald to act as owner's engineer for the development of two gas turbine power plants to be built in Spain. The two plants, each with a generating capacity of 800 MW, will be constructed at Arrubal in northern Spain and La Plana del Vent, close to Tarragona in the northeastern of the country. Both will supply power to the local grids. Each station will comprise two 400 MW blocks incorporating gas turbines in a single shaft, combined cycle configuration. The plants will be fired with imported natural gas.
