Eon and Gazprom ink massive gas deal

6 September 2006

The contract, which runs to 2036, marks a 15 year extension of existing contracts and will deliver approximately 24 bcm annually, one third of the total gas currently purchased by Eon Ruhrgas.

Some 4 bcm of additional gas will begin from 2010 – 11 through the NEGP when the pipe lands at Greifswald on Germany's Baltic coast. The project is being built by Gazprom, Eon and BASF. Eon is also developing two new gas pipelines linking the NEGP to the German gas grid.
