E.On reaches new investment milestone

3 February 2016

E.On has invested more in renewable energy than any other Germany company, the firm says.

The German energy giant has made net renewable energy investments of over €10 billion, enabling it to establish a strong position in onshore wind in key markets as well as advancing to number two globally in offshore wind.

E.On said that a recent upgrade to the Arumbank West offshore wind farm in the North Sea pushed its investments to over €10 billion. Other key current projects include the construction of Colbeck's Corners, a 200 MW wind farm in Texas, USA, and Rampion, a 400 MW offshore wind farm in the North Sea.

E.On established its renewable energy business in 2007. Renewable energy has become a core part of its business alongside networks and customer solutions after the separation of E.On's conventional thermal power plant business into a new company at the beginning of 2016.
