E.On says that it is to expand its development pipeline of renewable energy projects in the USA.
The German energy giant has started construction of a 20 MW solar project in Kern County, California, and has also announced the sale of another 20 MW solar facility in San Bernardino County, California.
The Maricopa West solar farm will consist of 89 000 photovoltaic panels and will be fully operational in 2015. It is the second solar farm to be built by E.On in California.
E.On has completed the sale of the Alamo solar park near the town of Oro Grande to Dominion, one of the largest producers and transporers of energy in the USA.
