EPRI and Eskom work together

EPRI and Eskom will establish a joint centre for environmental projects and training in Johannesburg, South Africa. EPRI and Eskom will be jointly offering training and technology transfer to both those in electricity utilities, and also those in other industries desiring environmental expertise.

The facilities of the Centre will be available to developing countries and to EPRI members. Joint EPRI-Eskom environment projects managed through the Centre will include pilot projects and the implementation of new technologies.

The Centre will host the first training course on environmental excellence in the transmission and distribution industry. The course will cover environmental management systems, life cycle analysis, oil risk assessments and bioremediation options, herbicides and vegetation control, and animal interactions.
