2 September 2005

Finnish energy utility Fortum Corp has launched a five-year programme to improve the reliability of the Nordic power grid across Finland, Sweden and Norway.

The Programme accelerates Fortum´s planned grid investments to a total of €700 million during the period. Each country has its own prerequisites with age as well as characteristics of the grids differing. "With the help of this programme we will reach our target to halve the present outage time for our customers by the end of 2011," said Christian Lundberg from Fortum.
