Marubeni Corporation has awarded Foster Wheeler a contract to design and supply two pulverised coal arch fired steam generators for the Thai Binh power plant in Vietnam.
Foster Wheeler will design and supply two 300 MWe steam generators and auxiliary equipment for the boiler islands at the new plant, which is being built in Thai Binh Province for Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).
The boilers will be designed to burn local Vietnamese anthracite coal while meeting applicable environmental requirements. Commercial operation of the first unit is scheduled for October 2017 and the second six months later.
