GE forms joint venture with Chinese

US engineering colossus GE has entered into a joint venture agreement with Shanghai-based steam turbine and power plant control systems company Shanghai Xin Hua Control Technology. The GE acquisition of a majority share in the Chinese company's subsidiary, Xin Hua Control Engineering Co, offers a strategic fit with the power plant optimisation services business, according to the company.

Xin Hua Control Engineering Co designs, manufactures and installs steam turbine and power plant control systems and software for application in power generation, pulp and paper, oil and gas, and general industrial segments.

GE Energy has four joint ventures in China including Shenyang GE Liming Gas Turbine Components Co, GE Shenyang Turbomachinery Technology Co, GE-HPEC-NTC Energy Services (Qinhuangdao) Co and GE Hydro Equipment Asia Co.
