GE to provide turbines for Hebei Province project

27 June 2005

GE Energy will supply turbines for the first large-scale wind project in mainland China’s Hebei Province. The 34.5 MW Shangyi Manjing project will use 23 of GE’s 1.5 MW units on a site around 100 km from Zhangjiakou City.

Developed and owned by Guohua Energy Corp, a subsidiary of the Guohua Investment Co, commercial operation is expected by October 2005.

The Shangyi Manjing project forms part of China's national target for 20 GW of new renewable energy by 2020.
