German giant signs deal for Romanian supply co

E.On has signed an €100 million deal for a majority stake in Romanian state-owned power company Electrica Moldova. E.On is paying €31.37 million to the government to buy a 24.62% stake and increasing its stake to 51% by a share capital increase of €68.63 million.

Electrica Moldova, supplies power to eastern Romania and has 1.3 million customers.

Another supply company, Electrica Muntenia Sud, which serves Bucharest, is due to be sold at the end of May.
