German MOX contract for BNG

24 May 2006

British Nuclear Group has signed a new mixed oxide fuel supply contract for the Sellafield MOX plant with German utility EnBW Kernkraft.

The deal covers the supply and transport of fuel to the company’s Neckarwestheim 2 reactor site. A key element of the contract is the commitment by EnBW to convert all the separated plutonium arising from their reprocessing contract at Sellafield into MOX fuel.

Commercial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
