Germany takes over from Japan

According to data from Germany’s solar industry body (UVS) the country has now overtaken Japan as the leader in the global solar power sector. In 2004, Germany installed 300 MW of solar power capacity, followed by Japan with 280 MW and the USA with 90MW. The German solar industry increased its total turnover by 60% to more than Euro 2 billion over the same period.
